NOTICE OF DRAINAGE CHANNEL INSPECTIONS FOR SKOKIE RIVER (EAST FORK) AND MIDDLE FORK CHANNELS

July 14, 2025

Notice is hereby given that personnel on behalf of the District’s Engineering firm, Gewalt Hamilton Associates (GHA), will be conducting inspections of outfall and channel conditions of the East and Middle Fork Channels located within the easements of Skokie Consolidated Drainage District (SCDD) this summer. SCDD ADOPTS 10-YEAR OPERATION PLAN

January 9, 2025

The SCDD Board of Commissioners adopted a 10-year Operation Plan for the District on January 8, 2025. The Plan contains a summary of current conditions of the District’s drainage system; an Operational Plan to maintain the system; and identifies current and future repair projects. The Plan is available under the District Plans and Partnerships section of the website.

FRIENDS OF THE CHICAGO RIVER RECOGNIZES SCDD PROJECT

June 13, 2024
The District received Green Ribbon Award at an event held on May 9, 2024, hosted by the Friends of the Chicago River. The award is presented to projects that demonstrate a high-level of river sensitive design, innovation, and consideration. The District received its Green Ribbon Award for the Skokie River Stabilization Phase 2 – Lake Forest Project. The project improved one mile of severely eroded stream banks between Westleigh and Old Elm Roads in Lake Forest.
